EBP II

Course Description

This course focuses on the application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary for the provision of safe, quality,
evidence-based nursing care for individuals, families, and communities. Emphasis is placed on evidence appraisal,
utilization, and scholarly dissemination. This course prepares graduates to participate as members of teams engaged in
evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and research.

Course Objectives

  1. Synthesize evidence from multiple sources to propose evidence-based solutions for the provision of safe, quality
    nursing care. (Clinical Judgment/Evidence-based Practice)
  2. Critically appraise database-derived evidence to support the provision of safe, quality nursing care. (Informatics)
  3. Present evidence-based interventions that support the provision of safe, quality nursing care. (Leadership)
  4. Recognize the contributions of interprofessional team members integral to the successful implementation of safe,
    quality, evidence-based practices. (Interprofessionalism)
  5. Effectively participate in team-based projects to disseminate evidence that supports the provision of safe, quality
    nursing care. (Professionalism/Self Care)
